Trauma-Informed Breathwork Retreat — Brazil (BBTRS®)

For this first BBTRS® Training Retreat in Brazil, we've created something truly special: a seamless 10-day immersion that combines a 2-day Introduction Weekend with our signature 8-day Training Retreat.

What you'll experience

Settle, release, and reconnect—gently

Brazil welcomes you to BBTRS®'s first 10-day immersion - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the full arc of trauma-informed breathwork, from soft entry to professional-level skill.

While BBTRS® typically offers 8-day retreats worldwide, Brazil marks a new chapter - a complete process from first breath to embodied skill, held in the warm embrace of Osheanic International's buddhafield by the sea.

Through the Six Pillars of BBTRS® - Breath, Movement, Sound, Touch, Emotion, and Meditation - you'll settle your nervous system, release chronic tension, and rediscover your innate capacity for presence. Sessions are consent-led, paced, and designed to keep you resourced throughout.

In just 10 days you'll...

  • Feel more grounded and present in your body

  • Learn simple regulation tools you can bring home

  • Process safely—no force, no breath holds, always at your pace

  • Experience live, skilled facilitation in a supportive group setting

What this retreat offers

A safe place to unwind tension and feel more like yourself

Brazil's first BBTRS® training retreat offers something extraordinary! Across 10 full days, we’ll guide your nervous system toward steadier ground. You’ll learn to sense more, push less, and build capacity so relief lasts beyond the retreat.

You’re in the right place if…

You want a safe, structured way to explore breathwork and embodied healing without overwhelm

You’re ready for a week dedicated to your inner work, with skilled guidance

You’re a practitioner or student seeking a deeper, personal immersion in BBTRS®

Note: This workshop welcomes both personal-growth participants and trainees. It also counts toward the in-person component of BBTRS® Advanced Professional Practitioner Certification.

The BBTRS® Method

Six elements. One coherent system.

We prioritise felt sense, consent, pacing, and containment. Each element works together to support regulation and release without catharsis.

Developed by Giten Tonkov, Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® is a body-oriented modality rooted in trauma physiology, somatic psychology and conscious breathwork.

The six elements form one integrated system, intentionally woven together to create a safe, regulated and effective session flow. Not all elements are used simultaneously, but each plays a specific role at different stages to support trauma release and integration within the nervous system’s window of tolerance.

Your 10 Days at A Glance

Across ten days, you’ll move through a structured, supportive process designed to open the body, support emotional flow, and expand your capacity to feel and integrate. Each day weaves together breathwork journeys, movement and embodiment practices, conscious emotional expression, and touch-based techniques—alongside partner work, meditation, and integration time. The pacing emphasizes safety, regulation, and gradual opening, allowing your system to unwind and reorganize from the inside out.

The Full Immersion

BBTRS® Training Retreat

(September 5–14)

Brazil Exclusive:

This special retreat weaves together Introduction + Training into one seamless container.

Deepen into trauma physiology and nervous system dynamics while developing hands-on facilitation skills through supervised practice. Learn to pace activation, work with consent, and support true integration - experiencing BBTRS® as both personal process and professional training.

This retreat counts as one of the three required in-person BBTRS® trainings within the Advanced Practitioner Certification Pathway. It does not confer certification on its own.

The Gentle Entry

Introduction Days

Frequently Asked

Questions

Have questions? Here are some of the most common things people want to know before joining—especially around safety, certification pathways, and logistics.

Do I need experience with breathwork?

No. The training is open to complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners. Everything is taught step by step, and all sessions are guided safely. What matters most is openness and willingness to engage in the process.

I’ve never done anything like this. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Many participants come without any previous somatic or therapeutic background. The training is designed to meet you where you are and support you physically, emotionally and energetically throughout the entire process.

Is this a professional certification?

The BBTRS® Training Retreat in Brazil is a professional in-person training that counts toward the official BBTRS® Certification Pathway, but it does not constitute a full certification on its own.

To become a Certified BBTRS® Practitioner, participants must complete:

- the BBTRS® Online Practitioner Certification, and

- three BBTRS® In-Person Training Retreats (this retreat can count as one of them), as part of the Advanced Practitioner Certification Pathway.

This retreat represents a significant step in the training journey, offering a solid foundation in trauma-informed facilitation, supervised practice, and embodied integration, supporting both professional development and personal healing.

Will I be a Certified BBTRS® Practitioner after these 10 days?

No. This Training Retreat is a major step and can count toward the pathway, but certification requires the online certification plus three Training Retreats.

Will I learn to facilitate sessions?

Yes, you will learn facilitation skills and practice in a supervised environment, with a strong focus on safety, consent and nervous-system pacing. Certification to practice as a BBTRS® Practitioner requires completing the full pathway.

Is the training intense?

It is deep and transformative, but always paced safely. You will be supported by experienced facilitators, clear structure and a strong emphasis on nervous system regulation and grounding. The goal is not to overwhelm, but to open gently and consciously.

How many participants can attend?

Spaces are limited to maintain safety, intimacy and high-quality facilitation. We recommend joining the waitlist to secure early access once registration opens. There is no application, but some basic information will be required during registration.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Payment facilities will be available during the registration process, including installment options to make participation more accessible.

Is accommodation included?

Accommodation and meals at Osheanic International will be paid separately upon arrival.

Can I join only the training or only the introduction weekend?

Yes. You may join only the introduction weekend (September 5–6). If you prefer to wait before committing to the full training, you can decide at the end of the weekend whether you want to continue into the BBTRS® Training module.

In which language will the training be held?

The training will be taught in English. Portuguese interpretation may be offered depending on the needs of the group.

When should I arrive at the venue?

We recommend arriving on September 4th, one day before the program begins, so you can settle in and start the journey rested and grounded. This option is available for an additional fee. If you're interested, please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Is it possible to arrive earlier than September 4th?

If you wish to arrive earlier, please contact Osheanic directly. Early arrival may be possible depending on room availability and additional accommodation fees.

Can I stay outside the retreat venue?

For the safety of the process and the integrity of the group field, all participants are required to stay on-site at Osheanic International for the full duration of the program.

What happens if I need to cancel my registration?

– Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance are eligible for a refund, with a deduction of 200 euros per participant for administrative costs and payment fees. Transfers of payment to another date are not permitted.

– Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance or withdrawals after the start of the retreat are not eligible for a refund.

– If the retreat is canceled by the organization, the full amount paid will be refunded.

– If there is a sudden illness or recent bereavement, we can suspend your registration. A refund may be considered with a medical certificate, deducting the administrative fee of 200 euros per participant.

Can I stay outside the retreat venue?

For the safety of the process and the integrity of the group field, all participants are required to stay on-site at Osheanic International for the full duration of the program.

Is there a minimum or maximum age to participate?

The training is open to adults aged 18 and above. There is no upper age limit, provided you are in stable physical and emotional health and able to participate in breathwork and movement practices.

Is intense work better for releasing trauma?

Not necessarily. BBTRS® avoids forced catharsis; we work within your capacity using pacing, consent, and titration. Strong sensations can arise, but we let the body lead so change integrates rather than overwhelm. You can always slow down, observe, or pause—no force, no breath holds.
