Developed by Giten Tonkov, Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® is a body-oriented modality rooted in trauma physiology, somatic psychology and conscious breathwork.
The six elements form one integrated system, intentionally woven together to create a safe, regulated and effective session flow. Not all elements are used simultaneously, but each plays a specific role at different stages to support trauma release and integration within the nervous system’s window of tolerance.
Brazil Exclusive:
This special retreat weaves together Introduction + Training into one seamless container.
Deepen into trauma physiology and nervous system dynamics while developing hands-on facilitation skills through supervised practice. Learn to pace activation, work with consent, and support true integration - experiencing BBTRS® as both personal process and professional training.
This retreat counts as one of the three required in-person BBTRS® trainings within the Advanced Practitioner Certification Pathway. It does not confer certification on its own.

Your perfect doorway into BBTRS®:
These first two days offer a gentle, supported introduction to the method. You’ll experience the Six Elements in a paced, non-cathartic way that builds safety, presence, and felt sense in the body.
Ideal if you’re new to BBTRS®, curious about breathwork, or drawn to change through consent-led exploration. You’ll get a clear, embodied sense of the work before choosing whether to continue into the full 8-day Training Retreat.
If you are not yet certain about continuing, you may join the first two days only and decide from there whether to continue into the full Training Retreat.

The BBTRS® Training Retreat in Brazil is a professional in-person training that counts toward the official BBTRS® Certification Pathway, but it does not constitute a full certification on its own.
To become a Certified BBTRS® Practitioner, participants must complete:
- the BBTRS® Online Practitioner Certification, and
- three BBTRS® In-Person Training Retreats (this retreat can count as one of them), as part of the Advanced Practitioner Certification Pathway.
This retreat represents a significant step in the training journey, offering a solid foundation in trauma-informed facilitation, supervised practice, and embodied integration, supporting both professional development and personal healing.
No. This Training Retreat is a major step and can count toward the pathway, but certification requires the online certification plus three Training Retreats.

Not necessarily. BBTRS® avoids forced catharsis; we work within your capacity using pacing, consent, and titration. Strong sensations can arise, but we let the body lead so change integrates rather than overwhelm. You can always slow down, observe, or pause—no force, no breath holds.
